Dapoxetine Drug Trials For Premature Ejaculation
Dapoxetine Clinical Studies Findings
To give you some idea of what dapoxetine (trademark Priligy) can do for premature Ejaculation, I’ve discovered some latest findings from the most recent Clinical trials.
Most recently dapoxetine has been studied in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter phase 3 clinical trials.
What that means is that the study took place on a number of men in different demographic areas, where a third took a placebo, another third took a 30mg dapoxetine and the remaining third took a 60mg dapoxetine.

I’m going to summarize for you one of those phase 3 clinical trials in 2614 men.
Intravaginal ejaculatory latency times (the time between start of intercourse to coming) was 0.91 minutes average of all the men at the start of the trial.
For the third taking the placebo this increased to 1.7 minutes, showing there is an improvement due to the psychological taking part in a trial effect.
But the third of guys taking the dapoxetine 30mg increased their staying power to 2.78 minutes a three fold improvement…
But the guys taking the 60mg dapoxetine did even better they lasted on average for 3.32 minutes nearly 4 times longer.
Another important outcome was how the guys rated their control over ejaculating. At the start of the trial men who rated their control as fair, good or very good was only 2.8%. But following the trial 51.8% of those on 30mg and 58.4% of those on 60mg rated their control as fair, good or very good… so you can see with dapoxetine that there is a statistical increase in the perception of control at both 30 mg and 60 mg of treatment.
Another one of the important patient-related outcomes, is satisfaction with sexual intercourse. It was found that there is statistically significant satisfaction level at both 30 mg and 60 mg in the dapoxetine clinical trial, and that there was no significant satisfaction among those individuals on placebo.
So we do get a good idea that the ideal treatment, is with the drug dapoxetine that has a short half-life so leaves the body quickly and reaches maximum concentration very quickly approx 1hr before intercourse and more importantly dapoxetine is essentially a drug that does not have to be taken on a daily basis.
Doctor Jon Pryor, chief urologist at the University of Minnesota and lead researcher said: "They demonstrate that, for the first time, a medicine can be taken by men on an on-demand basis and provide significant improvement in their premature ejaculation condition." With very few side-effects.

Dapoxetine Side Effects
Dapoxetine For Premature Ejaculation - Is There A Risk?
Obviously before you start taking a medical cure, you need to assess whether it’s worth it, you know is the risk of side effects worth solving your problem.
Well, with any drug you take, you risk getting affected by side-effects. Check out the leaflet in the next box of aspirin you open, to see what I mean.
So what are the known side effects for Dapoxetine, well the best source to get them from was the phase lll trial that I posted information about.
To summarise for the trial of 2614 men the side effects included nausea, diarrhea, headache, and dizziness.
But the percentages are far fewer than those listed for the serotonin reuptake inhibitors with a longer half-life and higher maximum concentration. Finding were:
–Nausea in 5.8 percent of men getting low-dose and 10.1 percent of men getting high-dose dapoxetine.
–Headache in 4.3 percent of men getting low-dose and 6.8 percent of men getting high-dose dapoxetine.
–Diarrhea in 5.0 percent of men getting high-dose dapoxetine.
–Dizziness in 6.2 percent of men getting high-dose dapoxetine.
Side effects made 10 percent of the men in the high-dose dapoxetine group and 4 percent of men in the low-dose group stop treatment. Less than 1 percent of men in the placebo group stopped treatment due to side effects.
Despite these side effects, Pryor and colleagues report that "both doses of dapoxetine were well tolerated."
Obviously you should consult your own Doctor before taking new drugs, but the findings are certainly benefitting the vast majority of Dapoxetine users.
And remember Dapoxetine is a drug belonging to SSRI drugs having a short half-life. That means the patients’ plasma gets it quickly and the plasma levels are normal again after 1-2 hours.
